Ruthless Vows by Rebecca Ross: We don't usually try to do series for our book club, but as half of the staff were all reading it the moment it came out, we had to pick it! This sequel is part of the Divine Rivals duology following Iris and Roman's romance through a war of gods threatening to break their whole world apart.

Born a Crime: Stories from a South African Childhood by Trevor Noah: Trevor Noah, icon of The Daily Show, was born a crime. Literally. With a white Swiss father and a black Xhosa mother, he was kept hidden by his mother for the first years of his life. After South Africa's tyrannical white rule ended, he and his mother could finally live openly. This book is his story--sometimes dramatic, sometimes hilarious--from where he came from.
