Abortion. Something that has less to do with a man's body than pregnancy (as evidenced by Arnold Schwarzenegger in Junior, obviously). Yet the current state of abortion laws in the US has forced it to become everyone's business, by people who should consider minding their own. The Supreme Court is giving a thumbs up to creepy vigilante anti-abortion enforcement, which has not only made abortion care out of reach for nearly all Texans, but has prompted lawmakers in 12 states and counting to line up to follow suit. And it's getting close to home - republicans just made ground in our very own DMV state -- Virginia! It's looking more and more like women may have to say "Hasta la vista baby" to rights over their bodies.

Grassroots Comedy DC has seen enough, which is why we're putting on a comedy show to raise much needed support and awareness for NARAL Pro-Choice Virginia!

NARAL Pro-Choice Virginia is a state-level, grassroots advocacy and political organization that supports preventing unintended pregnancy, having healthy pregnancies and births, and choosing safe, legal abortion throughout the Commonwealth. They need support now more than ever. In their own words:

Republicans will test the limits of Virginia's ability to protect abortion access. The fight will be long and hard, but now is not the time to give up. We know that nearly 80% of Virginians agree with us and support access to abortion care without political interference. This is the time that we dig our heels in and get to work.

If that's somehow not enough, we also have an amazing lineup of some of the funniest comedians in the Mid-Atlantic, including Katie McKelvie (She-Devil Comedy Festival), Natalie McGill (2 Dope Queens), Christine O'Dea (DC Improv), Rose Vineshank (Richmond Runny Bone), Sarah Roche (Laugh Factory), Denise Taylor (Kennedy Center) and hosted by Grassroots Comedy's own Dana Fleitman!

Tickets will be going fast, so get yours while you can! Grab a friend or five, and perhaps a pro-life relative to shake things up before Thanksgiving, and we’’ll see you at the show!
